Brief Overview of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is a paramilitary agency in Nigeria. They were established in February 1988 through Decree No. 45 of 1988 as amended by Decree 35 of 1992. The agency is solely in charge of maintaining traffic rules and regulations and this is carried out in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure road users obey the necessary traffic laws and are penalized when they default.
The FRSC is under the Presidency, and the supervising authority of this agency is the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). The policy making and administration of the FRSC is the responsibility of the Governing Board. The management and the daily operations of the Commission is headed by the Corp Marshal and Chief Executive.

They prevent or minimize accidents on the road
They educating motorists and road users on the proper use of the road

They are in charge of clearing obstructions in the road
