Rema whose real name is Divine Ikubor is an Afrobeat singer, performer, songwriter and a recording artist.
He is currently signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, one of the top music labels in Nigeria. The young Afrobeat singer gained media attention in 2019 when he released his singles, Iron Man and Dumebi. One of his songs made the summer playlist of the former United States President, Barack Obama.
He is one of the youngest Afrobeat artist in Nigeria whose songs have made it to the number one spot on most music charts in the country. The remix of ‘Baby Calm Down’ which he collaborated with Selena Gomez is one of the most streamed songs on Spotify and it is the most played Afrobeat song on Radio in the United States. He is the first Nigerian music artist to debut five top songs on Apple Music. His eponymous debut EP, ‘Rema’ in 2019, peaked at number 1 on Apple Music Nigeria.

Rema was born in May 1st 2000 in Benin-city, Edo State Nigeria, he is 23 years old. Rema was born into a Christian family, so he got used to singing Christian music while singing in church at a very early age of his life.

Rema lost his dad and his older brother but the young star ensure he takes very good care of his mother, Mrs Ikubor. In 2017, Rema got his mum a 2020 Lexus RX 350. Sometime that same year, he twitted accusations the People’s Democratic Party, PDP over the death of his father Justice Ikubor, a former chieftain of the party but the tweet was later deleted.
